A Thorn

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
In the Name of Allah,
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Once upon a time there was a terrible punishment under way in a
certain country. They were feeding the criminals to the hungry lions.
People would gather to watch this horrifying scene.

The criminal that day was a slave who had escaped from his owner.
He was left in the middle of an arena surrounded by high walls. They
let a hungry lion into the arena. At first the lion got ready to pounce on
the poor man, but suddenly it stopped and started to lick the slave's
hands!

The spectators were astonished. They asked the slave why the lion
had not attacked him.

The slave said :

''One day, I saw this lion in the forest. A thorn had lodged itself in its
paw, and it was in great pain. I pulled out the thorn and since that day
we have been good friends.''

People felt touched by this story. They set both the lion and the slave
free. To the people's amazement the lion was following the slave as if
it was his pet cat.

What a wonderful saying of our Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم :
الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرحَمُهُمُ الرَّحْمَانُ ارحموا مَن فِى الارْضِ

يَرْحَمكُم مَن فِى السَّماءِ    رواه الترمذى

''Allah shows His mercy to those who are merciful.
Have compassion to creatures on earth so that
those in the heaven may have mercy upon you.''

The 6 Qualities of the Sahabah Part 4

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
In the Name of Allah,
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

4.  Forth quality is Ikram,
the Sahabah always regard
the next Muslim high,they
always think good of
others and never hurt
other people’s feeling.

We also must do the same,
we must always try not to
fight with our siblings,
friends and relatives.Even
the non-Muslims, we must
not hurt them in anyway.

We are called Muslims
which means other people
are safe from evil acts
from us.Nabiصلى الله عليه وسلم
used to show such good
actions and have so much
patience when he was ill
treated. Yes, it’s difficult
to do so,but the reward and
outcome is so great.

If we want a pretty and delicious cake we
need to put a lot of ingredients and put a
lot of effort to bake it, we have to wait till
its baked and then decorate it and then only
we can eat it, same goes in having patience.
If we go through this difficulty of having
patience with the next Muslim, Allah will
love us all the more. Everyone will love us.

Full Circle

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
In the Name of Allah,
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Rashid was on his way to the Masjid for Jumu'ah one day. While he was
walking, he noticed an old woman who was dragging a heavy package
down the sidewalk. As he passed by he greeted her with, ''Assalam 'alaikum,
sister.'' ''Peace be on you.''

The woman stood up and replied back to him, ''Wa'alaikum assalam.''

Rashid looked at the poor old lady and remembered that the Blessed
Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم taught that we should have respect for old people.
He offered to help her carry the package and she readily agreed. So Rashid
hoisted the burden on his shoulders and began to follow the woman in the
opposite direction he had been traveling.

As they passed house after house, Rashid began to worry about begin late
for Salaah. He knew that Islam placed great importance on doing things on
time and that being late for Jumu'ah was especially looked down upon.
What was he going to do ?

Rashid could almost feel the Shaitan creeping up on him, whispering to him
to drop the heavy package and leave the lady to carry it so he would not
have to miss any of his salaah. When he became aware of the negative
feelings, however, he recited Surah Nas quietly, because he remembered that
the prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم said it would help protect us from evil suggestions.

Rashid then recalled that Islam teaches us that every kindness is an act of
charity, and that such actions are due on every part of our body every day.
''I will continue to help this nice old lady and run to the Masjid if I have to,''
he said to himself.

Just then, the lady signaled to Rashid that they had reached their destination.
Rashid, who had been busy with his day-dreaming about why he should help
her, lifted up his head and asked, ''Okay, where should I put it?''

The lady opened a door and said, ''Bring it in here.'' Rashid walked inside
past the lady, took one look around, and found he had stepped through the
back-door to the Masjid. The lady was bringing groceries for the Masjid!
Rashid smiled inwardly and said, ''Alhumdulillah.''

Muhammad(S.A.W) The Last Prophet

Born in 570 in the Arabian city of Mecca, he was orphaned at an early age and brought up under the care of his uncle Abu Talib. He later worked mostly as a merchant, as well as a shepherd, and was first married by age 25.

Discontented with life in Mecca, he retreated to a cave in the surrounding mountains for meditation and reflection. At age 40, in the month of Ramadan, where he received his first revelation from Allah. Three years after this event Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that "God is One", that complete "surrender" to Him  is the only way acceptable to Allah, and that he himself was a prophet and messenger of Allah, in the same vein as other Islamic prophets.

Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم gained few followers early on, and was met with hostility from some Meccan tribes; he and his followers were treated harshly. To escape persecution, Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم sent some of his followers to Abyssinia before he and his remaining followers in Mecca migrated to Medina (then known as Yathrib) in the year 622. This event, the Hijra, marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar, which is also known as the Hijri Calendar.

In Medina, Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم united the conflicting tribes, and after eight years of fighting with the Meccan tribes, his followers, who by then had grown to 10,000, conquered Mecca. In 632, a few months after returning to Medina from his Farewell pilgrimage, Muhammadصلى الله عليه وسلم fell ill and died. By the time of his death, most of the Arabian Peninsula had converted to Islam, and he had united the tribes of Arabia into a single Muslim religious polity.
